If you like to have fun by the water, then Horsens Fjord is the ideal area for you. It is beautiful and offers great conditions for sailing, surfing, sea kayak and much more. If you don’t have your own equipment, it is possible to rent kayaks and in some periods to take wind- and kite surfing courses. Moreover, you can choose a relaxed boat trip on the fjord with the tour boat “Tenna II”, or cross the fjord in the fishing boat “Gitte Marie”. If you visit Horsens in your own boat, there are several nice marinas with good facilities to choose from. On the island of Endelave, about 10 km from the mainland, you will find a newly renovated marina, and at the end of the fjord, the big marina is placed in walking distance from Horsens’ city centre.
Tenna II, sailing the fjord Every Friday and every second Saturday throughout the summer, the tour boat “Tenna II” departs from Horsens. On Fridays you will be taken on a cosy and beautiful trip around the fjord. You will pass the natural reserve of Vorsø, and the beautiful, newly established golf course at the Stensballe Manor is easy to see from the boat. On the opposite site of the fjord, you will see the old pier at Boller Castle and woods. The pier was constructed for the purpose of discharging grain and wood. Later it was used as pier for different kinds of sailing. Today, the pier is often used as excursion spot and visitors will often see anglers at the pier. On Saturdays, Tenna II reaches Hjarnø, where a 1 hour break is held, and you can go for a horse carriage ride. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the afternoon at the fjord. Gitte Marie, Snaptun-Alrø During the summer it is, on certain days, possible to make a full journey around the fjord on bike. Fishing vessel Gitte Marie sails between Snaptun and Alrø and transports passengers and their bikes.
